My Why

A friend of mine once pointed out something about me. He said that we could be standing on top of a mountain at sunset with an incredible view and he would often find me down on the ground taking a photo of a flower. This is what I love about photography, that each of us has a different perspective.

Photography is wonderfully diverse. From sport, portraiture to lifestyle there are so many different avenues to be creative. Taking photos allows you the time to appreciate your environment, to notice the big moments and the little ones in between. From midnight astrophotography at the lake to summiting mountains at sunrise, I love that capturing images and adventure go together.

There is so much sentimental value and longevity in photographs. So many of my own memories stem from images my mom took of us camping with her film camera. This is why photographing stories is so special. Creating memories for people to bring them back to a moment of joy is my dream job.

A Little Bit More About Me

My name is Sarah Haley and I live in Whistler, BC. I have been living and playing here for 6 years and love this little town nestled by the mountains. I moved here from Ontario for the outdoor lifestyle and have stayed because of the likeminded and creative community.

My passion is capturing humans, I love laughter and freezing happy moments for a life time. The idea of bringing joy to people in the form of photographs is what has driven me towards this profession.

Growing up in Ontario I was lucky to have adventurous parents. We spent our summers canoe camping and winters cross country skiing. I grew up catching frogs and sleeping in tents. This upbringing has fuelled my love for the outdoors and my appreciation for this beautiful planet we live on.

From doodling on school pages to photographing with my moms old camera, creative outlets have forever inspired me. Photography came into my life at a young age and I feel so grateful to be able to call it my job. I love the opportunity to continuously grow and progress creatively.
