Destination weddings are such a beautiful way to turn your wedding day into a week long adventure. Instead of everything happening on one intense day, your wedding becomes an entire week long adventure creating a much richer experience.

One of the biggest advantages is the variety of backdrops and moments we can capture. From getting ready in a cozy villa or hotel room, to quiet moments in the morning light, to exploring nearby landscapes, every part of the day has its own atmosphere. That means we can move slowly and intentionally, capturing lots of smaller in between moments that often end up being some of the most meaningful images.

Destination weddings also allow for more intentional time with your people. Because everything is typically more spread out and relaxed it creates more time for real connection.With slow breakfasts with family, wandering between locations, private moments just the two of you, or golden hour time together after. These are the kinds of moments that don’t always fit into a traditional wedding timeline, but they become naturally possible in a destination setting.

From a photography perspective, having control over locations and light is a huge advantage. We can plan around the best parts of the day and explore new locations together. Typically I will photograph family moments the night before, engagement style photos with dramatic landscapes, morning moments getting ready with everyone and the party at the end of the day. Because I will have travelled with you I will capture the entire story which will create a stunning documentary style photo gallery to help you remember your experience forever.

And just as importantly, there’s usually a bit more time built into the overall experience, sometimes even multiple days together. That means we actually get to know each other before the wedding day fully unfolds. By the time we’re photographing the most important moments, there’s already a level of comfort and familiarity, which makes everything feel easier and more fun.
