Fall Mountain Elopement

Just 20 minutes north of Whistler, tucked away in the Pemberton valley sits the Drumkeeran House. It is surrounded by trees and is beside Ivey Lake which makes it the perfect location for an intimate wedding.

This couple chose to keep their ceremony small, sharing the moment with only their closest family in a little forest behind the house. It felt so peaceful with no pressure that comes from having a big wedding with lots of guests. Just their closest people celebrating their relationship on a cool fall day with light rain on the lake. Ceremonies like these are a great reminder that a wedding doesn’t need to be big to be incredibly meaningful.

After the ceremony, we took time to celebrate together before heading out for an adventure. The couple, myself and their dog made our way to a nearby viewpoint just as the sun began to dip behind the mountains. Mt. Currie stood in the background giving us the most incredible mountain backdrop for all of their portraits. We got some amazing photos of them walking around on the rocks and laughing doing silly poses with their dog. I absolutely love this location, it is so accessible offers such a unique view of the Pemberton valley.

These are the moments I love to photograph the most, movement, genuine laughter and natural connection. Just two people enjoying themselves in a beautiful location! Also I love it when animals are involved.

Drumkeeran House is such a beautiful option for couples looking for a wedding venue close to Whistler. It offered everything this day needed with a quaint forest, mountain views, and an intimate private space.

If you’re dreaming of a mountain wedding near Whistler that feels true to you, I’d love to help tell you plan something special. I hope you enjoy looking through this galley, there were so many photos I loved that I wanted to share!
